Making room for the web
The independent web still has space for small, uncomplicated places.
Not every website needs a user account, an algorithm or a stream of updates. A page can simply offer an idea, a useful explanation or an enjoyable corner of the internet.
Static pages are often wonderfully resilient. They load quickly, adapt to different screens and require less from readers. Their limitations can become a form of discipline.
Make something worth visiting
A good website starts with content worth returning to and an experience that does not get in the way. Everything else can follow later.
